“I hear there’s rumors on the Internets” – George W Bush, 10/8/2004, St. Louis, MO
Those darn Internets!!!! Can’t trust them. And President Bush may soon find that out the hard way. George Bush’s library foundation recently found a home on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Texas. This Presidential library is projected to cost $250 million. They even purchased an Internet domain name for it: http://www.georgewbushlibrary.com/. Everything was coming together perfectly.
Or so they thought. Taylor Griffin, the library foundation spokesman, had bad news last week. It appears that the foundation somehow lost ownership of the domain last year, most likely because someone forgot to renew it.
Who would want this domain, you may ask? A company called Illuminati Karate in Raleigh, NC. How much did they pay for it? $9.99. What do they plan to do with it? Not giving it back to George W Bush!
I have no doubt that this company is owned by a bunch of opportunistic, anti-Bush individuals. While I find much-deserved humor in the fact that George Bush may end up with a less-than-desired domain name for his library, I condemn Illuminati Karate for its action. Irrespective of their feelings for the President, the domain does not belong to them, and keeping it out of George Bush’s hands only illustrates their own unnecessary ridiculousness and excessive absurdity.

I would guess they can work out some deal; maybe they can get the dot.org one?

The words George W. Bush and library combined are an oxymoron.
